Obituary of Mabeth Quiri

Mabeth Shuttleworth Ritter Quiri, 83, a former Amsterdam resident, passed away Saturday afternoon at the Masconomet Rehabilitation Center in Topsfield, Mass. surrounded by her family. She was the widow of the late Robert Hamilton Quiri who predeceased her on Sept. 28, 1979. Mrs. Quiri was born in Amsterdam on Dec. 16, 1922, the daughter of the late Richard Wallace and Beatrice Shuttleworth Ritter, she was raised and educated in Amsterdam and Paris Ky., and was a graduate of Stuart Hall in Virginia. Mrs. Quiri loved golfing, tennis, playing bridge and being with her family and friends. She is survived by three children, Elizabeth Ann Quiri and her husband Ronald C. Morrison of Westford, MA, Robert Hamilton Quiri and his wife Betsy Williams of Oldsmar, FL, and Mabeth Ritter Quiri and her husband John R. Richards of Beverly, MA; one brother, Jarrell D. Ritter and one sister, Elizabeth Ann Ritter Clay, both of Paris, KY. She was predeceased by a brother Richard Wallace Ritter of Amsterdam and a step grandson, Brian D. Richards. Mrs. Quiri has six loving grandchildren; Robert H. Quiri III and his wife Stacy of Palmetto, FL, Bradford J. and Clayton J. Quiri of Oldsmar, FL; Jarrell David and Elizabeth Lindsay Morrison of Westford, MA, and Amanda Grant Richards of Beverly, MA. She is also survived by her great grandson, Morgan Hamilton Quiri of Palmetto, FL. as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Greenhill Cemetery, Cornell Street, Amsterdam. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call on Tuesday from 5-7 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc., 440 New Karner Rd. Albany NY 12205.
