After leaving the Dutchess County area in the 1990?s, she became a more permanent figure to the lake area she loved so deeply. Mabel was also secretary of the Canada Lake Protective Association, and a regular visitor to the Gloversville Free Library, where she enjoyed the many resources available. Survivors include her children: Barbara Kane Russell of Nashville, TN. Michael Kane and William Kane both of Auburndale, MA. She is also survived by a sister; Ruth Mc Cusker of Princeton, N.J. and three grandchildren: Margot and Sara Kane and Alexander Russell, as well as nieces, nephews and three cousins.
