Obituary of Adela Ahnert

Adela ?Ann? Ahnert, 75, of Harrison Ave, Amsterdam, passed away Wednesday June 14th, 2006 at St. Mary?s Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Amsterdam on December 19, 1930 a daughter of Michael and Jean Sweintecka Ilnicki. She was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and attended local schools. Mrs. Ahnert was a homemaker. She attended the former 2nd Presbyterian Church in Amsterdam. She was an avid bowler in many leagues in the area. She bowled at the former Super 30 Lanes and Imperial Lanes in Amsterdam. She also enjoyed crocheting, gardening and above all being with her family and her grandchildren. She married William Ahnert on September 4, 1946 and they enjoyed 60 years together. In addition to her husband survivor?s include four daughters, Margaret Ann Smith and her husband Alan of Gloversville, NY, Eileen Carol Reynolds and her husband Joe III of Amsterdam, Patricia Ann Lavicka and her husband Gary of Johnstown, NY, Bonnie Lynn Frascatore and her husband Dave Jr. of Perth, three sisters, Josephine Ross, Jean Vollmer, & Phyllis Zdanko. Grandchildren, Sandra, Richard, Cheri and Charles Allen, Erica Cummings, Jessica Smith, Malinda Ann ?Mindy? Reynolds, Lindsay Nicole Lavicka, Shawn P. Collins, Jayson Frascatore and Juliana Frascatore. 8 great-grandchildren also survive. She was pre-deceased by one brother Michael Ilnicki, a sister, Frances Yanski, one grandchild, Amy Nicole Collins and one great-grandchild Brandon Allen. Nieces, Nephews and cousins also survive. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday June 17th, 2006 at 1:30 P.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY with Pastor McDonald presiding. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday prior to the service beginning at 12:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Albany Medical Center Children?s Hospital, New Scotland Ave, Albany, NY 12208.
