Obituary of Peter Constantino

Mr. Peter Constantino, 84, of Sandy Drive, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 5, 2006. Born on November 8th, 1921 he was the son of the late Angelo and Louise DePasquale Constantino. He was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools. Mr. Constantino enlisted into the United States Army on August 17, 1942. He served as a private first class and was commissioned for several tours during WWII. Peter was in the Army for three years until his honorable discharge on October 21, 1945. Mr. Constantino worked with his brother, John in the wholesale produce business for several years. He then worked as a laborer for many years for Santos Construction in Amsterdam, until his retirement in 1983. Peter was a lifelong parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic. He enjoyed his garden and taking care of his lawn. His loving family includes Helen Rizzo of Wilmington, Delaware; Yolanda Petrosino of Amsterdam, New York and Mafalda Marsicano of Amsterdam, New York; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sisters, Carmella Constantino, Catherine Ambrosino, Josephine Constantino and one brother, John Constantino. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 8:30 a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:15a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, Grove Street, with the Rev. Lawrence Decker as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Michael?s Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call from 5 until 7 Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude?s Children Cancer Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
