Obituary of Pietrinella Nellie Malagisi

Pietrinella ?Nellie? Malagisi, 86, of Spring St., Palatine Bridge, New York, passed away Wednesday April 26, 2006 at Palatine Nursing Home. Born in Rotterdam, Holland on March 5, 1920 a daughter of Jacobus and Josina Vooys Serierse. She came to the U.S. to Canajoharie, New York in 1923. She moved to Holland, Michigan and resided there for several years. She then moved back to Palatine Bridge where she graduated from Canajoharie High School. She went on to attend College in Detroit, Michigan. She worked for the defense effort while in Detroit Michigan during World War II. She later came back to Palatine Bridge where she has since resided. Mrs. Malagisi and her husband also wintered in New Smyrna Beach, Florida for 20 years. She enjoyed her family and her friends. She married her husband of 60 years Anthony F. Malagisi on January 26, 1946. In addition to her husband survivors include two sons, Anthony J. Malagisi, Sr. and his wife Betty of Webster, New York, Victor F. Malagisi and his wife Siri of Palatine Bridge, New York; six grandchildren, Jason Malagisi and his wife Debbie, Jake Malagisi and his wife Bridget, Sonya Stepps and her husband Harvey, Theresa Harpole and her husband Rich, Kristina Duritza and her husband Steve and Mindy Malagisi; ten great-grandchildren, one sister in law and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was pre-deceased by two sisters, Arnie and Lena. A Mass of Christian Burial will he held on Saturday April 29, 2006 at 1:00PM at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Ft. Plain, New York with Father Kenneth Swain as celebrant. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 10:00AM to 12 Noon at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego St., Canajoharie, New York.
