Obituary of Delilah Clemons

Mrs. Delilah Clemons, 98 of Gloversville, died Wednesday at Nathan Littauer Hospital. Born in Lasselville on October 30, 1907, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Carrie Edick Miles. She loved sewing and was quite an expert. Early in life she worked for area glove shops sewing gloves at home. Most of her life she worked in the laundry department as a sewing machine operator at Nathan Littauer Hospital. She was a long time member of the Foothills United Methodist Church. Mrs. Clemons was married October 15, 1926 to Burton Clemons who pre-deceased her in 1989. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Harrington of Gloversville, two sisters; Hazel Pearl of Dolgeville and Ethel Brower of St. Johnsville. She is also survived by four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a son Milford Clemons and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be conducted 12 noon Saturday at the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street Gloversville with Reverend Wayne Jones Pastor of Foothills United Methodist Church officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday 11 am to 12 noon prior to the service. Burial will be in W. St. Johnsville Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Foothills United Methodist Church 17 Fremont Street, Gloversville.
