Obituary of Patricia A. Thompson

Patricia A. Thompson, 70, of Ridge Rd., Broadalbin, NY, passed away Thursday April 20, 2006 at Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs, NY. Born in Ft. Johnson, NY on March 12, 1936 a daughter of George and Doris E. Faber Stearns. She was a lifelong resident of the Amsterdam area and was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. She worked as a secretary for the Mohawk Finishing Company formerly of Amsterdam. She was a parishioner of St. Mary?s Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. Mrs. Thompson loved to quilt, read and go antiquing and was very proud of her Irish Heritage. On November 15, 1958, she married Richard J. Thompson. He died November 27, 1994. She is survived by two sons, Richard N. Thompson and his wife Sharon of Bainbridge, GA, and John P. Thompson and his wife Barbara of Haverhill, MA, daughters, Laura L. Cain and her husband Paul of Bethesda, Maryland, and Pamela Thompson and her companion Chuck of Saratoga Springs, NY. Two sisters, Lorena Gomula and Sheila Stearns of Amsterdam. Nine grandchildren, Victoria, Abigail, Christopher, Brandon, Kayla, Leeah, Joshua, Madison and Jack, one great-grandchild Aryanna. She was pre-deceased by her two brothers, William Stearns and her twin brother Michael Stearns. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 8:30A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:15A.M. at St. Mary?s Roman Catholic Church, East Main St., Amsterdam. Interment will be in St. Mary?s Cemetery, Ft. Johnson, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 1:00-3:00P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to St. Mary?s Church, East Main St. Amsterdam, NY 12010.
