Obituary of Paul P. Neznek

Paul P. Neznek Jr., 58. of Scotchbush Road, Pattersonville died unexpectedly Thursday morning at home. Born in Amsterdam, NY on August 16, 1947 he was the son of the late Paul and Ruth Schaufelberg Neznek Sr. He was a lifelong area resident and was a 1965 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High school. After high school, Paul joined the United States Navy on May 5, 1966. He served in Vietnam and several tours until his discharge in January 13, 1972. When he returned home he became an Iron worker for Albany Local 109. Upon his father?s death in 1972, he became the owner and operator of Paul Neznek Inc. For 26 years he served the Greater Amsterdam School District with Bus Transportation until 1998. Paul then pursued a career in farming and truck driving. He had many animals and enjoyed his time at home. He is survived by his wife, the former Judith Santos whom he married on August 18, 1973; three daughters, Jill Downes and her husband Phil of Ft. Plain, NY, Gale Bohm and her husband Jeremy of Amsterdam, NY, and Rita Neznek of Silver Spring, Maryland; one grandson, Nathan Bohm; two brothers, Wayne Neznek and his wife Joyce of Pattersonville, NY and Douglass Neznek and his wife Wendy of Amsterdam, NY; one sister, Mary Neznek of Washington D.C.; and several Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 11a.m. on Monday at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with the Rev. John Magee presiding. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Chuctanunda Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call from 2 until 5 Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the N.I.H. Study of I.B.M., Study # 02N0122 in care of the funeral home
