Obituary of Anthony M. Sharp

Anthony M. Sharp, 56, of Bayard Street, passed away suddenly Easter Sunday at St. Mary?s Hospital. Born in Amsterdam on April 24, 1949, his parents were the late James and Helen Sharp Beams. Tony was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School. He then went to work for Longview Fiber in Amsterdam, retiring three years ago after thirty-five years of employment. He was an avid NASCAR and Yankees fan and earlier had been a member of the Friendly Bowling League. He and his wife enjoyed line dancing with the Sue Kaupelis Bubba Line Dancers. On Sept. 14, 1975 he was united in marriage to Cynthia J. Scott. In addition to his wife, his loving family includes his daughter, Shannon S. DeLuca and her husband Kevin of Portsmouth, Rhode Island; a step sister, Nancy Houck of Hagaman; a step brother, Richard Beams of Connecticut; his mother in law, Jean Scott of Clifton Park; a sister in law, Shelly Russo of Fultonville; grandchildren, Britny, Ryan, Brendon and Jaclyn; and several nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate his life will take place Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue with Fr. Pascal A. Iannotti officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday from 5-7 pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the St. Jude?s Children?s Research Hospital in care of the funeral home.
