Obituary of Robert C. Brothers

Mr. Robert C. Brothers, age 60, of Gloversville, died suddenly at home on Monday, April 10, 2006. He was born August 27, 1945 in Gloversville, the son of Florence Putman Brothers and the late Donald Brothers. A graduate of Gloversville High School, Bob began his career with a paper route for the Leader Herald newspaper. He then took a full time position with the Leader Herald in 1963 and continued to work there for 43 years until his unexpected death. Mr. Brothers was a member of the North Main Street United Methodist Church. He was a fan of many sports, an avid bowler, and a life-long fan of NASCAR racing. He was a member of the Dave Lape racing pit crew for many years until his death. He is survived by his mother, Florence Brothers of Gloversville; a sister, Beverly J. Mackey Richard of Gloversville; two brothers, Donald E. Brothers Florence A. of Scotia and Ronald M. Brothers Cheryl of Gloversville; his favorite pet dog, Cody; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Calhoun. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm Friday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday with the Rev. Christopher Hamm officiating. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
