Obituary of Harry Clemans

Mr. Harry Clemans, Jr., 92, formerly of Gloversville, died Sunday at Palatine Nursing Home. He was born January 17, 1914 in Gloversville, son of the late Harry K. and Irene B. Frye Clemans. Mr. Clemans was educated in Gloversville schools and employed as a maintenance worker. Early in his life he had worked for Mohawk Carpets, Fulton County Silk Mills and was a volunteer worker at the Gloversville Fire Department. He retired from the former Johnstown Hospital. His love for music and especially the trumpet was well known. Harry played for many years with Dick Henry and the ?Victorians? group as well as the ?Rainbow Revelers?. He was also involved with the drum corps school at the Plattsburgh Military Barracks. His memberships include the Johnstown Senior Citizens 50 plus and the Goldenaires. Mr. Clemans was married August 5, 1967 to Jane R. Van Arnam who pre-deceased him in 1991. He is survived by his daughter-in-Law; Sharon P. Clemans of Gloversville; a granddaughter, Sheree L. De Thomas and her husband Bill of Rio Rancho, New Mexico and two great-grandchildren, Angelo John De Thomas and Victoria Lorraine De Thomas. He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Suzanne J. Clemans, in 2004 and a son, Harvey John Clemans, in 2002. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service for urn burial will be held at a later date to be announced.
