Obituary of Glenn L. Oathout

Mr. Glenn L. Oathout, age 66, of Gloversville, died suddenly on Saturday, April 8, 2006 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville. He was born on October 28, 1939 in Mayfield, the son of the late Leland and Annamae Montanye Oathout. A graduate of Mayfield Central School, Glenn was employed at General Electric Company in Schenectady as a welder. He more recently was a landscaper and also worked odd jobs in the area. Mr. Oathout was a member of the Mayfield Fire Department and the Mayfield Servicemen?s Club. He is survived by two daughters, Kirsten M. Edwards and her companion Tom Goodemote of Gloversville, and Karyl L. Brownell and her husband Michael of Johnstown; a sister, Ruthann E. Coons and her husband Bill of Gloversville; a brother, Roger D. Oathout and his wife Bonnie of Meco; five grandchildren, Amy and James Gregorio, and Justin, Ethan and Kyle Brownell; an uncle, Eldon ?Tuffy? Montanye and his wife Madge of Mayfield; several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm. Cremation will follow at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the charity of your choice.
