Obituary of Wayne W. Bilger

Mr. Wayne W. Bilger, 78, of Gloversville died Monday March 6, 2006. He was born September 21, 1927 in Gloversville, son of the late John and Florence Crowter Bilger. Mr. Bilger was educated in Gloversville schools and employed as an auto mechanic for various area car dealers including Gifford?s, Kentris-Heritage and Procita. He retired in 1992. Wayne enjoyed working with his hands and built his own home; he also enjoyed gardening. He was always involved with his family and loved being with them all. His interest in sports was well known, especially NASCAR, the Giants and the Mets. He is survived by his wife, Joan Sleezer Bilger, of Gloversville whom he married August 24, 1949. He is also survived by a son, Martin Bilger and his wife Sharon of Gloversville; daughter, Linda Cintula of Johnstown; grandchildren, Charles S. Cintula and his wife Jamie and Amy Doucette and her husband Chris; a great granddaughter, Isabella Doucette and step-grandchildren, Michelle and Mark Jones. He is also survived by two nephews and a brother in law, Donald Robbins. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 pm Thursday at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church with Reverend Paul Butler, associate pastor as celebrant. Urn burial will be private and at the convenience of his family in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to a charity of choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville.
