Obituary of Helen M. Boyd

Mrs. Helen M. Lamphear Boyd, age 59, of Gloversville, died Saturday, March 4, 2006 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville. She was born on February 5, 1947 in Gloversville, the daughter of Edward Lampear and the late Helen Buyce Lamphear. She was employed as a housekeeper by Getman Memorial Home in Gloversville for more than 28 years until her illness caused her retirement in January. Helen enjoyed walking her pet dog Mitsu. She loved her job at the Getman Home, and the residents who lived there as well. She was a member of Bleecker Street Church of Christ. Helen is survived by her father, Edward ?Teddy? Lamphear of Gloversville; seven siblings, William Lamphear of Gloversville, Christopher Miller of Saratoga Springs, Scott Miller of Gloversville, Juanita Williams of Pioneer, OH; Nellie Page of Speculator, Cindy Shutts of Fultonville, and Lorna Ross of Pioneer, OH; her best friend, Dawn Blood of Gloversville; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her companion of many years, Jack Kane. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm Tuesday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St.; Gloversville, where a Legacy Candle Ceremony will take place 6:45 pm Tuesday. Cremation will follow at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. A memorial service will take place at 11:30 am Wednesday at the Bleecker Street Church of Christ, Gloversville, with the Rev. Sandra Geer officiating.
