Obituary of Cynthia L. Playford Kenyon

Cynthia L. Playford Kenyon, 46, of Division Street, died Monday morning at St. Mary?s Hospital with her loving family at her side after a long illness. Born April 26, 1959 in Amsterdam, New York, she was the daughter of Carolyn Motyka Playford and the late Eugene Playford. She was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and a graduate of Amsterdam High School class of 1977. She was employed as a sewing machine operator for 20 years for Breton Industries of Amsterdam. Cynthia was a member of the Time for Truth Ministries, Inc. in Amsterdam. She loved spending time with her family, spending summers at the family camp at Sacandaga Lake and enjoyed poetry. On August 22, 1992 she married Daniel J. Kenyon, 1st. Besides her dear husband, she is survived by her loving family: three sons, Keith E. Kenyon, Johnathan D. Kenyon and Daniel J. Kenyon, II all of Amsterdam; a daughter, Ashley J. Kenyon of Amsterdam; her mother, Carolyn Motyka Playford of Amsterdam and a brother, Mark A. Playford and his wife Tammie of Seneca Falls, New York; aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 23, 2006 at 11am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with the Reverend Raymond Barnett officiating. Interment will take place in spring at the Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 4 to 7pm at the funeral home. A Legacy Candle Ceremony will be held that evening at 6:45pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Cynthia?s memory to Community Hospice of Amsterdam, 246 Manny?s Corners Road, Amsterdam, New York, 12010 or to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osbourne Road, Loudonville, New York, 12211.
