Obituary of Marion Ashton Glenn

Mrs. Marion Ashton Glenn, age 71, of Gloversville died Saturday, January 21, 2006 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 10, 1934 in Amsterdam, the daughter of the late John and Sarah Hopkins Ashton. She was employed at the old Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville, and also for many years as a glove sewer at various glove shops and at home. She was a Girl Scout Leader during and following the time when her daughter was a girl scout. Marion enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking, and working in her flowerbeds and vegetable garden. She loved animals and most of all taking care of her family. Marion was married to Urban Glenn who died April 29, 2002. She is survived by one daughter, Donna M. Busch and her husband Harold of Gloversville; one son, Brian S. Glenn and his companion Debbie Wooster and children Tim and Terry Wooster of Fultonville; a brother, George Ashton of Gloversville; a sister, Eleanor Wagoner of Gloversville; a beloved grandson, Christopher Glenn; two step-grandchildren, Bruce Busch II and Barbara Busch, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Carol Ashton. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Monday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held 10:00 am Tuesday with Pastor Rev. Alan C. Witter officiating. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211
