Obituary of Robert C. Smith

Mr. Robert C. Smith, 65, of Hickory Hill Road, Fonda, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2006 at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam. Born on May 16, 1940 he was the son of the late Frank and Madaline Smith Stangle. He was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools. Mr. Smith was employed as a chemical operator for Schenectady International for 30 years until his retirement in 2005. Mr. Smith was a proud member and past president of the Town Of Mohawk Fire Dept. Robert spent much of his time at the fire department or the Jones? family farm. His loving family includes his son; Jason Smith of Fonda; daughters; Lisa Burroughs Brian of Ogivielle, Minn.; and Rebecca Brunelle Michael of Broadalbin; Brother, Frank J. Smith Jr. of Charleston, S.C.; and a sister, Madeline DeLuca of Plant City, Fla., five grandchildren; Logan, Cody, McKayla, Nathaniel Robert and Luke Robert; as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother George and a sister Mary. A memorial service will take place Tuesday at 6pm at the Town Of Mohawk Volunteer Fire Department. Rt 30 A.
