Obituary of Gregory A. Dylong

Gregory A. Dylong, 55, former resident of Schenectady, N.Y. resident of New Scotland Avenue in Albany, entered into his eternal life surrounded by his loving family on Thursday at the Albany Medical Center. Born April 12, 1950, in Schenectady, New York, he was the son of Joseph Dylong and the late Muriel Chislet Dylong. He attended Schalmont High School and later became a nurse?s aide and served his clinical training at Albany Medical Center. For many years he was a care giver to family members. Greg participated in his family farm business in Pattersonville his whole life. He enjoyed playing Babe Ruth Baseball with the Rotterdam Baseball League. He also loved spending time with his family, lifting weights and singing. Greg was predeceased by his long time companion Judith Simms, who died several years ago. Survivors include his dear family; his father, Joseph Dylong of Pattersonville; three sisters, Debra Fish of Pattersonville, Denise Stevenson of Rexford, NY and Donna Dylong of Schenectady; and several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2005 at 8:30 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:15 am at St. Mary?s Roman Catholic Church, East Main Street, Amsterdam. Burial will take place in spring in the Chuctanunda Cemetery in Minaville, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home. A prayer and eulogy will be given on Monday evening at 6:30 pm at the funeral home.
