Obituary of Elmer Pauling

Elmer Pauling of Johnstown died Janaury 1, 2006 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Buffalo. He was 79. Mr. Pauling was born February 26, 1926 in Rotterdam, the son of John Z. and Helen Dobsa Pauling. He was self-employed, running a grocery business in Broadalbin for many years. He was also a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Broadalbin. Mr. Pauling was married to Joan Barrie Pauling, who predeceased him. He is survived by his daughter, The Rev. Charmaine McGroty Rogers of Louisville, KY, and son John Elmer Pauling of Buffalo. He also leaves behind his sister Evelyn Deluccia of Schenectady, three grandchildren, two great- grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Friday at the First Presbyterian Church of Broadalbin at 11 a.m., co-officiated by Mr. Pauling?s daughter, Rev. Charmaine McGroty Rogers, and church pastor Rev. Linda Martin. Burial will take palce at the Evergreen Memorial Park in Schenectady. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 West Main Street, Broadalbin. Memorial contributions in Elmer?s memory may be made to the VA Medical Center, 3495 Bailey Ave., Buffalo NY, 14215.
