Obituary of Anthony P. Pinkevicz

Mr. Anthony P. Pinkevicz, 81, formerly of Rouse Road, Ft. Plain passed away Christmas Eve Day at St. Johnsville Nursing Home, where he had been a resident. Born January 29, 1923 he was the son of the late Peter and Anna Romanowski Pinkevicz. He was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools. Mr. Pinkevicz was a Veteran of WWII. He worked for Beechnut Nutrition for many years, until his retirement, was Supervisor of Strain Foods. He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge, the Eagle?s Aerie, the Loyal Order of Moose, the American Legion and the V.F.W. Mohawk Valley Post. Mr. Pinkevicz was also a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Ft. Plain. Survivors include one son, John Pinkevicz and his wife Sandra of Fulton, New York; one sister, Amelia ?Pinky? Pinkevicz of Ft. Plain; two granddaughters, Brittany and Michelle Pinkevicz of Fulton, New York and several cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass that will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00a.m. at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 115 Reid Street, Ft. Plain with the Rev. Kenneth Swain as celebrant. Interment will take place in the spring in the Ft. Plain Cemetery with full military honors. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mid-County Ambulance Corps, P.O. Box 126, Canajoharie, New York, 13317 or to the St. James Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 287, Ft. Plain, New York, 13339.
