Obituary of Nellie E. Trzaskos

Mrs. Nellie E. Trzaskos, 84, passed away at the Baptist Health Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, where she had been a resident since April of 2004. Born in Amsterdam, New York on February 13, 1921 she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Elizabeth Staniulis Racis. She was a life long area resident. Mrs. Trzaskos worked for the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance in Albany, until her retirement in 1983. She was a communicant of St. Casimir?s R.C. Church, Amsterdam. Nellie was married to Joseph A. Trzaskos on November 10, 1940 and that union lasted for 34 years until his death in 1974. Survivors include two brothers, Joseph Rogers and Alfred and his wife Virginia Rogers, all of Amsterdam and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Trzaskos was predeceased by two brothers, Stanley and Francis Rogers, and one sister, Polly Kutinskas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:30a.m. at St. Casimir?s R.C. Church, East Main Street, Amsterdam with the Rev. Stanley Swierzowski as celebrant. Burial will take place at St. Casimir?s Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Health Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, 297 N. Ballston Ave., Scotia, NY 12302. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam.
