Obituary of Anna Rose Grieco

Anna Rose Grieco, of Petoff Gardens Apartments, passed away Sunday morning December 4, 2005 at the Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville, NY. Born in Harrison, New Jersey on September 1, 1929 a daughter of Frank and Mary Sbarro Sasso. She was a lifelong resident of New Jersey and attended local schools there. She moved to this area in 2003. Mrs. Grieco worked for over 30 years as a waitress at Mom?s Restaurant in Edison, New Jersey. She was married at one time to James T. Jimmie in 1961, who passed away in 1974. Survivors include two sons, Vincent Martone and his wife Patricia of Amsterdam, New York and Thomas Martone and his wife Patricia of Broadalbin, New York; one daughter, Barbara Soderstrom and her husband Eugene of Amsterdam, New York; three sisters, Phyllis ?Fifi? Weiderspan of Belford, New Jersey, ?Angie? Flanagan of Parlin, New Jersey and Elizabeth ?Betty? Scheuerman of Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Nathan & Dominick Martone, Gina Gillman, Vincent Martone, Julie Forbes and Andrea Martone; eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Mrs. Grieco had a beloved family pet, Bella Soderstrom. She was pre-deceased by one brother, Thomas ?Bobo? Sasso who died in 1995. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday December 6, 2005 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, New York, 12010. Mrs. Grieco will then have viewing hours on Wednesday December 7, 2005 from 2:00-4:00PM and 7:00-9:00PM at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin, New Jersey. Cremation will later take place and private inurnment will be in Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Monmouth, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mountain Valley Hospice, Steele Avenue, Gloversville, New York, 12078.
