Obituary of Gabriel Petrescu

Mr. Gabriel Petrescu, age 80, of 5 Eastland Avenue, Gloversville NY, died suddenly on December 3 at Nathan Littauer Hospital Gloversville. Mr. Petrescu was born April 27, 1925 in Husi, Romania , the son of Alexandru and Zamfira Melenciuc Petrescu. He spent much of his adult life living and working in Queens, NY, and has lived in Gloversville for the last year. Mr. Petrescu is survived by his wife, Mariana Gheorghe Petrescu of Gloversville, a son Leonard Petrescu and step son Adrian Marinescu, both of Queens, two brothers, Peniel Petrescu of Califonrnia, and Emanuel Petrescu of Romania, and three sisters, Olympia and Tabita Prescu and Lucia Kis, all of California. He also leaves one grandchild and two step grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville on Monday at 1 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Peter Danci of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Queens. Burial will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from noon to 1 p.m.
