Obituary of Robert W. Van Derwerker

Mr. Robert W. Van Derwerker, age 61, died Wednesday evening, November 20, 2005 at his home in Mayfield, NY. He was born September 20, 1944 in Schenectady, the son of the late Warren Buster and Julia Heald Van Derwerker. A 1963 graduate of Mayfield Central School, he resided in Gloversville and Mayfield most of his life. Robert was employed as an accountant by BeechNut Foods in Canajoharie, and most recently by the Vilage of Mayfield until he retired this past July. Survivors include his sister, Kathie A. Sartin of Mayfield; a brother, James A. Van Derwerker of Gloversville; two nieces, Leslie Poyfair and Tracey Sartin; a nephew, Mark A. Van Derwerker; 6 grand nieces and grand nephews, several aunts, uncles and cousins. A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm Sunday at Union Rural Cemetery, Mayfield, with the Rev. David C. Newkirk officiating. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mayfield Service Men's Club, Mayfield, NY 12117.
