Obituary of Barbara D. Greco

Mrs. Barbara Greco, 78 years old of Tremont Street, Amsterdam, passed away early Sunday morning after a long illness. She was born November 12, 1926 in Amsterdam, a daughter of Frank and Mary Meyers. Mrs. Greco attended the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School and was a life long resident of Amsterdam. She had been employed by Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Mills, the Scotia Navy Depot and later at GO Oil.Barbara is survived by her husband Frank V. Greco, daughters Carolyn and her husband Michael Del Santo and Jackie Greco; her grand daughters Kristen and Jennifer Del Santo. Also surviving are her sisters Irene and her husband DominicViola of Gloversville and Shirley Logan of Amsterdam; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in ?law, nieces and nephews.As a wonderful homemaker her greatest love was the care of her family; especially her grand daughters Kristen and Jennifer. Barbara enjoyed bowling, skiing, golf, volleyball, casinos and shopping. She also enjoyed holidays with her family and took great pride in her gardening at her home. Barbara was a communicant of St. Michael The Archangel Roman Catholic Church, St. Mary?s Hospital Auxiliary and the Women?s Tuesday Matinee Bowling League.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by The Rev. Pascal Iannotti on Tuesday at 9:15am at St. Michael?s Church. Burial will take place in St. Michael?s Cemetery. At Barbara?s request there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made: Greater Amsterdam Vol. Ambulance Corps, 11 Park Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010, or St. Mary?s Hospital Foundation, 427 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, NY 12010. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam.
