Obituary of Antonio F. Ricciardi

Antonio F. Ricciardi, age 84, of Gloversville, died Saturday May 21, 2005 at Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY. He was born February 20, 1921 in Gloversville, the son of the late Emiddio and Sofia Astarito Ricciardi. He was educated in Gloversville schools and served in the Army during World War II from 1945 to 1958. Mr. Ricciardo owned and operated Ricciardi?s Service Stations in both Gloversville and Johnstown. He later worked for a time at Lee Dye Corp. and for many years in the maintenance department of the Holiday Inn in Johnstown. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed being at home and around his family. He also loved his dogs and earlier in life enjoyed summer camping. His children, Sophie Cole of Fultonville, Antonio F. Ricciardi Jr. of Gloversville and Alexander Ricciardi of Mayfield; a sister, Molly Felczak of Syracuse; four grandchildren, one great grandchild, several nieces and nephews survive him. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a prayer service will be held 9:15 AM Wednesday, followed at 10:00 AM by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Gloversville, with the Rev. Paul Butler as celebrant. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, Utica area office, 5096 Commercial Drive, Yorkville, NY 13495.
