Obituary of Stella Siemanski Wager

Stella Siemanski Wager, 93, formerly of Grand Street, passed away Monday morning at Montgomery Meadows after a long illness. Born in Amsterdam on Nov. 22, 1911, the daughter of Wladyslaw and Aniela Siemanski, she was educated here. For many years she was an assembler for Collette Manufacturing until she retired. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus? Roman Catholic Church. Her husband, Orville Wager, predeceased her in May of 1976. Her son, Robert Wager; sisters, Winifred Jankowski, Cora Cook, and recently, Josephine Slachtovsky also predeceased her. She is survived by her son John F. and his wife Josephine Wager of Amsterdam; A daughter, Sylvia Newkirk of Northampton, Mass.; twelve grandchildren including granddaughter Lisa Newkirk, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews survive. A Funeral Mass will be offered Wednesday at 9:30 am at St. Stanislaus? Church, Cornell Street, Fr. David Mickiewicz, celebrant. Interment is in St. Stanislaus? Cemetery. There are no calling hours and contributions may be made in Stella?s memory to St. Stanislaus? Church, 73 Reid Street, Amsterdam. The family has entrusted her arrangements to the care of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue.
