Obituary of Carmella F. Martin

Carmella F. Martin, 84, of Division St. Amsterdam, passed away Friday March 11, 2005 at the Vitas Hospice in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; she had recently been visiting her son in Dania Beach, Florida. Born in Gloversville, NY on August 3, 1920 a daughter of Joseph and Theresa Affablia Anadio. She was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools. Mrs. Martin was employed for many years at the Noone Glove Co. in Amsterdam and various glove mills in the area. She was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. She married Anthony Martin in 1948; he passed away in February of 1978. Survivor?s include one son, Anthony J. Martin and his wife Lydia Martin of Dania Beach, FL; her longtime companion, Tony J. DeSantis of Gloversville, NY; two Brothers: Peter Anadio of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Benjamin Anadio of Gloversville, NY; three Grandchildren: Tina Gugliemelli, Ross A. Martin and Erika Martin; three Step-Grandchildren: Nina Zabuga, Dominick Gonzales and Victoria Gonzales and two Great-Grandchildren: Christian and Isabella Gugliemelli. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was pre-deceased by three brothers and four sisters. Funeral Services will be held on Friday March 18, 2005 at 8:30A.M. at the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:15A.M. at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, Grove St. Amsterdam. Interment will be in St. Mary?s Cemetery, Ft. Johnson. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday March 17, 2005 from 5-7PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Mark J. Hughes, for Cancer Treatment and recovery c/o the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam.
