Obituary of Mary Julia Lasky

Mary Julia Lasky, (aka Little Mary), went home to her heavenly father on January 26, 2018 with her family by her side. Born on January 23, 1938 in Amsterdam, NY, the daughter of the late Andrew and Maria (Palangi) Savocchio. Mary was employed for many years as a home health aide. Mary enjoyed life. She lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed her trips to the casino, playing cards with her friends, Marsha, Sharon, Joyce and Karen. She loved her family. She lived for soending time with her three children and all her cherished grandchildren, celebrating holidays, and many birthdays. That is what Mary lived for. She is survived by her husband, Richard of 59 years, whom she married on February 2, 1958. Her sister, Anna (KeKe) Wavres. Her sons, Raymond (Kim) Lasky, Williams (Becky) Lasky, her daughter, Marisa (Fred) Danise, her precious grandchildren, Richard Lasky, Jennifer (Dave) Reiner, Jeremy (Amanda) Lasky, Williams (Destinee) Lasky, Benjamin (Kayla) Lasky, Britteny Lasky, Jonathan Danise, Justin Danise, Juliana Danise and Matthew Danise. Her great-grandchildren, Juliana, Joey, Savannah, James and Benjamin. Mary is at peace with her mother, father, brothers, Edmund and Edward and her sister Nancy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday January 31, 2018 at 11:15 A.M. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 156 E. Main St. Amsterdam with Father Jeffrey M. L'Arche, M.S. as celebrant. There are no calling hours. Private interment will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Amsterdam. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the James Brennan Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Rd, Gloversville, NY 12078.
